The Neurophysiology Laboratory functions as one of the ancillary diagnostic units of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. The University of Santo Tomas Hospital Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory is composed of dedicated professionals committed to carrying out the mission of the University of Santo Tomas Hospital in the education and training of professionals with special competence in the field of clinical neurophysiology. It is an ancillary unit of the hospital that renders the highest and globally accepted standards of care and assessment of all adult and pediatric patients through accurate performance and interpretation of quality and affordable neurophysiologic, electrodiagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 

The Laboratory offers six (6) main services, namely: electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography-nerve conduction velocity (EMG-NCV) studies, repetitive nerve stimulation studies, prolonged/short exercise tests, blink reflex study, single fiber EMG, evoked potentials (i.e., VEP, BAEP, SEP), polysomnography,  transcranial Doppler (TCD) study, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). 

These are the equipment available at the said unit:

  1. One (1) Unit Viasys Nicolet-one vEEG 32 Channel with Digital Video, Ethernet Interface Kit
  2. One (1) Unit Praxis Med portable EEG machine
  3. One (1) Unit Nihon Kohden Evoked Potential/EMG Neuropack S3 MEB 9600
  4. One (1) Philips 21″ color TV 21PT2324/71 and one (1) Aiwa VHS Player Hv-FX6NH for use in VEP studies
  5. One (1) Unit Rimed Digilite Transcranial Doppler Machine
  6. One (1) MagVenture® Magpro Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator
